Our Methodology: How We Collect and Verify eSIM Prices
How the data is collected
Every plan in our comparison tables is a listed, purchasable plan at the time of checking. We record prices in USD as displayed on each provider’s own website or app, excluding one-time promo codes and region-specific taxes. Each provider-country pair carries a “last checked” date, and every comparison page shows the newest date that applies to it.
Cadence: full sweeps monthly, plus off-cycle updates when a provider announces pricing changes or during major sale periods.
How the metrics are derived
All derived numbers are computed from the same two raw fields - price and validity - so every provider is measured by the same ruler:
- $/day = price ÷ validity in days
- $/GB = price ÷ data allowance (fixed plans only; unlimited plans show no $/GB because the denominator is undefined, and we prefer not to guess what fair-use means in gigabytes)
- Cheapest / Best value / Most data badges are assigned by literal sort position within the country table, not editorial preference
Fair-use transparency
“Unlimited” plans are listed with each provider’s documented fair-use policy where one exists. Where a provider publishes no policy, we say so rather than assuming the best. If a plan’s fair-use terms change materially, the plan note changes in the same data cycle.
Corrections
Wrong price on our tables? Send the correction with a link to the provider page. Verified corrections go out with the next build - we do not wait for the monthly sweep to fix an error.
