Best Unlimited eSIM Plans 2026: Daily Rates Compared
Unlimited eSIMs are priced per day, so the only fair ranking is the daily rate. For every country where an unlimited plan exists, we list the lowest per-day price across all providers — and the fair-use catch behind it.
Unlimited sounds like one product, but it is priced like a hotel: by the day. That makes daily rate — total price divided by validity days — the only honest way to rank unlimited eSIMs across countries and providers. Below, every destination in our database that has at least one unlimited plan, sorted by the best daily rate any provider achieves there. Before picking one, read how the pricing works and what “unlimited” legally means in our fair-use audit.

How unlimited eSIM pricing works
Per day rather than per GB
Unlimited plans sell a number of days, not gigabytes. A “$3.90/day” plan bought for 7 days costs $27.30 upfront — the daily rate is the only number that compares across trip lengths.
Longer trips mean a lower daily rate
Most providers discount longer validity. The cheapest daily rate in a country is usually the 20–30 day package, not the 5-day one — our table always shows the best rate.
“Unlimited” always has a ceiling
Every unlimited plan we track carries a fair-use policy that can throttle your speed. We record each plan's policy note verbatim — see the fair-use audit before you buy.
When unlimited actually wins
When is an unlimited eSIM cheaper than metered data?
Divide a country's best unlimited daily rate by its best metered $/GB and you get the break-even: how many GB per day you must actually use before unlimited pays for itself. We computed it for every country — the spread is huge.
0.2 GB/day
The easiest win is Qatar
Unlimited at $0.28/day against $1.25/GB metered: stream a couple of hours a day and unlimited already pays. A heavy user's dream market.
1.1 GB/day
The median country
Across the 50 countries we computed, the typical break-even sits at 1.1 GB/day. Rough rule: if you burn through more than 1.1 GB on a normal travel day (maps + music + an evening of video), unlimited is likely the cheaper side.
3.1 GB/day
The hardest win is Colombia
Cheap metered data ($0.98/GB) meets a pricier unlimited rate ($3.05/day): you would need 3.1 GB every single day before unlimited wins. Buy a big bucket here instead.
Break-even = best unlimited $/day ÷ best metered $/GB in the same country, same dated snapshot. Fair-use throttling still applies above the break-even — read the fair-use audit before betting a heavy-streaming trip on one.

FAQ
What should you know before buying unlimited eSIM data
Which country has the cheapest unlimited eSIM?
United States — its best unlimited rate works out to $0.17 per day (Ubigi). The cheapest upfront unlimited listing there is 500MB / 1 Day at $0.51 for 1 days. Daily rates are the only fair cross-country comparison because unlimited plans are sold by validity, not by volume.
Does unlimited eSIM mean unlimited speed?
No. Every unlimited plan we track carries a fair-use policy that can slow your connection after a threshold or under congestion. Some listings state the threshold explicitly (for example a full-speed daily allowance followed by throttled data); others state nothing at all. We quote each provider's policy verbatim in the fair-use audit — treat an unstated policy as unknown, not as unlimited speed.
When is unlimited cheaper than a fixed data plan?
When your daily usage clears the break-even. We compute it per country: best unlimited $/day divided by the best metered $/GB. The median across the 50 countries we checked is 1.1 GB per day — use more than that on a typical day (an evening of video plus maps and music) and unlimited usually wins; use less and a big metered bucket is cheaper. The three-country spread in our break-even section shows how far this moves by market.
How do you compare unlimited eSIM prices fairly?
By daily rate: total price divided by validity days, taking the cheapest unlimited plan per provider per country from the same dated snapshot. Sticker prices mislead — a 30-day plan at $69 looks pricier than a 7-day at $27.30 until you divide. The same snapshot also powers our price index, so metered and unlimited rankings never mix their numbers.
